Runway 34 is Ajay Devgn’s latest thriller movie that was released on 29th April. Starring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles, the movie is based on a real-life flight incident.
Initially titled “MayDay”, the film’s original title was then changed to Runway 34. The movie is produced and directed by Ajay Devgn.

After verifying and deep research, we finally have the name of the pilot who saved 150+ lives. The real-life pilot on whom Ajay Devgn’s character is based is Manoj Kumar Rama Warrier. Manoj Kumar Rama Warrier is a pilot who hails from Kerala. He was seen as a hero by locals after he averted a major mishap that could have taken the lives of dozens.

Runway 34 Aircraft Name
The aircraft company, Skyline which is shown in Runway 34 is the fictional one. This incident happened on a Jet Airways flight. Unlike Dubai to Kochi, the route which is shown in the movie, Jet Airways was flying from Doha to Kochi on the date of incident. The date of the incident which is reported in the movie is same as the date of an actual incident.
So long story short, Manoj Kumar Rama Warrier is the real-life pilot from Runway 34 movie who was flying Jet airways at the time of the incident in August 2015.
