Anek is the latest Hindi language released in theatres on 20th May. The movie stars Ayushmann Khurrana and a North-eastern actress from Nagaland Andrea Kevichusa making her Bollywood debut.

Just hours after the release of Anek, the movie was leaked in the early hours of 27th May. The leak happened in several places. Firstly, on Telegram, a link was sent as a forward in one of the pirated channels. The channel was taken down after reports by several users and fans. In the same Telegram app, Anek movie was uploaded which was directly available to watch and download from the app. The channel was taken down in the same way as the previous one.
Secondly, the movie was uploaded on quite a few piracy and torrent websites. It was then known to the makers who decided to take legal action against those who uploaded the movie on shady websites.
